This is a highly efficient mini-filter from Red Sea, made for the AquaVase nano tanks but perfect for any tank up to 3 gallons. The Nano Filter combines mechanical, biological and chemical filtration for superior results, has an adjustable flow control for a variety of aquarium styles and sizes, is easy to install and maintain with super silent operation. Instructions: Inlet tube allows for up to 2 extensions (included) to be added plus inlet screen.Select the proper number of extensions to allow for water removal from near center area (by height) of aquarium. Make sure filter is hanging level in vertical position. Add water to fill filter chamber. Close cover, place flow control valve in vertical (full open) position. Plug in filter to electrical outlet. Filter will make a little noise until all air has been pushed out which usually takse about 60-120 seconds. Once filter is running quietly, adjust flow control to fit your needs and desires. Remove, rinse and replace filter
